Planet Purbeck Campaigns

The Campaigns Team had a busy 2021 responding to local and national consultations, showing that we as constituents and residents care about plans and strategies being put forward. Public opinion can influence government decisions!

We commented on the consultations over the desirability of container return schemes and the making of producers be responsible for the items they sell (and the packaging). All steps towards the fabled ‘Circular Economy’ where all waste (like that in the natural world) becomes the material for further products leaving no waste.

Current campaigns

This year the team are working on how to expand our campaign on waste which we initiated during the last PP Festival when our display and public interaction accompanied ‘Wanda the Waste Warrior Fish’.  We are focused on getting out and meeting you. We want to hear which other issues concern you but also highlight ways in which you can take actions to make our locality cleaner, greener and a better place to live and thrive.

We will also contribute to local campaigns such as Dorset Deserves Better which is asking Dorset Council to rethink the Dorset Local Plan. More information from Dorset Can here>
