A 2.5hr conservation session for all ages - toddlers, kids, teens, parents & grandparents are all welcome
Scrub ( such as gorse ) is important, but too much of it can smother other plants, shrubs & trees PLUS it can also be a fire hazard as it burns very quickly
SO... The good folks at Durlston Country Park & National Nature Reserve are inviting you to get hands on with lopping & chopping to help a variety of natural habitats & wildlife to thrive
The Rangers will be providing a spot of expert training as the event includes using hand cutting tools such as secateurs, loppers, hand saws & shears
Hopefully we'll be able to have a bonfire to help easily dispose of the mountain of scrub we bash!
( NO PROMISES... weather permitting! )
Notes:
Meet at the Learning Centre ( Upper part of the car park )
Event is FREE but places are limited so we'd appreciate bookings ( takes a just a few secs )
FREE parking on the day - registration with the Ranger will be required
Gloves can be provided for everyone - but you're very welcome to bring your own
Wear old clothing & sturdy footwear suitable for such a rugged task
All ages welcome - We ask that all under 16s are accompanied by at least one responsible adult
