Events: Riverfly Monitoring Training with Dorset Wildlife Trust

Dorset Wildlife Trust are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to train as riverfly monitors

The riverfly monitoring volunteers are needed for the Corfe River as part of the national River Monitoring Scheme.
Riverfly Monitor volunteers will be asked to carry out one-hour surveys on a monthly basis between April and September. The surveys will involve counting key river insect species and other invertebrate groups.
The valuable data will be used to assess river quality and acts as an early warning system of any potential problems.

In partnership with the National Trust, a Riverfly Monitoring Training Workshop will be held on Saturday 19 March 2022 in Corfe Castle village.

If you are interested in joining the workshop, please contact Angus Menzies by emailing riverfly@dorsetwildlifetrust.org.uk
