If you've enjoyed our wonderful Festival, come and join in with our post-festival cleanup, which will involve groups litter picking in various areas around Swanage, including along Shore Road, around The Mowlem, along the route of the Parade, and in and around Prince Albert Gardens, leaving Swanage lovely and litter free for our community!
We will meet at the bright blue Beach Buddies hut next to the Swanage Information Centre on Shore Road as we do for our weekly litter picks on the beach.
Swanage Beach Buddies’ beach cleans complement Swanage Town Council’s great work keeping Central and South Beach clean throughout the year.
Whether it’s during the summer when the beaches host hundreds of thousands of visitors, or the autumn and winter when gales can bring up huge quantities of marine litter, we’re able to give the beaches deep cleans and extra TLC and help raise awareness of plastic pollution.
We will supply litter pickers, bags and gloves. The meeting point is accessible as is Shore Road, but litter picking on the beach will be on sand/pebbles and so not accessible for standard wheel chairs or mobility scooters, sorry.
We're also running beach cleans at 9am Sunday 26th Sept or 6pm Tuesday 21st Sept.
