Organiser Name: Worth and Langton Eco Church Groups and The Benefice of St Aldhelm, c/o Kathy Hollidge
At the Benefice of St Aldhelm we have been on an ‘eco-pilgrimage’ exploring how we can better care for our world, throughout church life and in our own lives, with the help and inspiration of the charity Eco Church.
The Church of England has set a challenging 2030 Net Zero carbon target.
To celebrate what we have achieved and learnt, we have produced displays explaining some of the problems and our solutions, at both St George’s Church, Langton Matravers and St Nicholas Church, Worth Matravers.
Throughout the Planet Purbeck Festival Week you can pick up a self-guided environmental walk leaflet at either church and follow a choice of scenic and fascinating routes, including the ‘Priest’s Way’, between the two churches. Leaflets will be available in the porches of the church outside of the times shown for this event.
The walk is approximately 2.5 miles and uses public footpaths with a variety of surfaces and inclines.
The churches are accessible but the footpaths have restricted access and unfortunately are not suitable for wheelchairs.
