Langton Matravers Community Orchard and Woodland Trail (maintained by Friends of the Woodland Trail)

This is a project for growing food for the local community, a place of relaxation and contemplation, providing space for the Forest School and Preschool, an area to enhance biodiversity and for community events e.g. Apple Tasting and a Winter Wassail.

Also, providing:

a) A venue for activities of the Forest School;

b) How a local council derelict site was turned into an Orchard and Woodland Trail for the local community, and its effectiveness on the environment.

Location & directions

Access: No vehicular access and very limited disabled access. Location via the School Playing Field opposite St Georges School. Enter gate on opposite side to access the Woodland Trail and Orchard and onto the allotments. Langton Matravers Community Orchard and Woodland Trail, south of the playing field for St George's C Of E Primary School, High Street, Langton Matravers, Swanage, BH19 3HB.
